Founded by Rocio Portes-Varas, a proud Dominican-American from Queens, New York, Moca Coffee Company is a vibrant celebration of Dominican heritage and the cherished capital of Moca, Dominican Republic. Inspired by Rocio’s 95-year-old grandmother, Flor, who grew up on a Dominican coffee farm, migrated to the U.S., and became the first female entrepreneur in the family to build a thriving business, Moca Coffee Co. transforms every cup into a story of culture, connection, family, and hardworking communities.
With over 15 years of expertise in sales, business and coffee, Rocio, alongside her business partner and husband, Marcell, and their daughter, sources organic, 100% Arabica coffee directly from the finest farmers in the Cibao region of the Dominican Republic. Our medium roast, with notes of chocolate and fresh apricot, and bold dark roast reflect the passion of our farmers, roasters, and baristas dedicated to excellence. We also offer Flor Moca, 100% raw and pure honey honoring Flor’s sweet legacy.
Moca Coffee Co. is more than a brand—it’s a movement. Through our nonprofit, Educate to Lead, we empower farmers’ children in the Cibao region and underserved U.S. communities with education and leadership opportunities. Rocio’s vision as a female entrepreneur is to honor her roots while fostering equity and connection, creating pure and chemical free coffee and honey that resonates from the Dominican countryside to the global stage, one flavorful Moca cup at a time.
